Google Tip
March 7, 2008
I have started using Google forms to do quick surveys and project registrations. You can publish the form and then subscribe to the RSS feed to keep up with the entered information, but the feeds are not formatted and it is not quickly scannable information.
Now, Google has a new gadget that can be added to your iGoogle page to show your most recently active forms in Google Docs.
Anyone else have a “life hack” type tip on something Google?

Did you see that you can sync your Google and Microsoft Outlook calendars now? This is sweet for someone like me. I use Google calendar for all business and personal appointments. I used to copy my business appointments that were sent in Microsoft Outlook into my Google calendar to try to keep track of everything all in one place. I don’t have to do that anymore because a little plug-in does it for me. I like Google calendar because I can give access to anyone that needs to view it.

I was watching “Cranky Geeks” today and they were talking about how much they love Google Calendar and the ability to subscribe to other people’s calendars and overlay them with your own.
I think that would be a great tool for the TxDLA leadership to publish the annual calendar and then committee chairs could quickly overlay it with their own personal one.
I’ll make that suggestion to Lisa when I see her at the TxDLA conference. I think that is a great idea. They’re kind of tired of my ideas though, so I need to make sure they understand it was actually from their current Awards Chair!

Ok, Not Really a Tip but Google just release a beta version of the Google toolbar; they updated the feature that when you start typing it gives you suggestions. And now the best feature of all…. you can save anything on you toolbar. Ok, let me elaborate the buttons, their order, and auto fill all gets saved all you have do is login with your Google account. When you go to another computer and it has the beta version of the toolbar you can login and all you setting are there, also you can have more than one auto fill profile. THANKS GOOGLE you’re the best. http://toolbar.google.com/T5/intl/en/
