Crazy Busy
March 4, 2008
This caught my eye from the Life Hacker blog. I know that many of us who coordinate and schedule videoconferencing use the phrase “crazy busy” to describe our workdays. One of the concepts mentioned is that our frenzied pace makes it difficult for us innovate. Book study anyone?

If you’re serious, I’m in…

I’ve heard that Google gives their employees the ability to book something like 10% or 20% of their time to work on personal projects that relate to the organization. Many of the Google services we use now came from these personal projects.
If and when I become king of the world, I’m going to encourage my employees to book at least a half day a week to work on a personal project which connects to the work, be it a project development, a blog, time to read/explore information - whatever. We need time to think, and I believe that time should be embedded into the job description if possible.
