Holiday Extravaganza: Day 2
December 5, 2007
Singing and reading continued today. Rudolph and Santa are hanging in there. Today Santa was called away to a budget meeting and his elf assistant had to fill in. She was definitely NOT Santa, but did a good job on short notice.
Day 2 Stats:
Rudolph sang to 32 classes in 14 connections for a total of 603 students.Santa read to 30 classes in 14 connections for a total of 627 students. (We did catch one class that actually attended two sessions!)
Behind the Scenes:
- One building coordinator was not in attendance and the teachers did just fine! Yay!
- One building cannot connect to the bridge so they were making changes to the CIPA filter and the network today to be ready for tomorrow’s connections. Rudolph did not have much time to troubleshoot this one though. I tested again late in the day and we will connect point to point until after the Holiday Mayhem then will figure it out.
- One building did spontaneously disconnect a couple of times when the Elf was reading. Not sure what is up, but am making a list for Rudolph.
- Only two classes were about 2 minutes late getting into the room. All others were ready and waiting at the assigned time.
- One BIG OOPS was with one of our new districts. They are very small and the “building coordinator” is also an administrator, the bus driver, the testing coordinator, etc. The teacher submitted the connection form and I scheduled all the classes and then sent the email saying, “We are all scheduled” to the building coordinators and not to the teachers. Well, this teacher never got the message that she was scheduled.
(NOTE TO SELF: Send emails to teachers AND building coordinators.)
All in all, day 2 was a rousing success!
