LCDLC Content Provider Updates

Date October 18, 2007

Look what popped into my Google Reader. I think this might be Paul H. in Ohio.

This is a good idea. I have been struggling with how to communicate all the different types of programs that are going on and that I learn about. I have one HUGE content mailing list, but I don’t like to blast everyone when I only want elementary teachers or middle school science teachers.

Wonder if I could teach my group to check out a second blog? Maybe I don’t call it a blog. Maybe we just link it from the main site and then teach them to click on elementary, middle school or high school.

I am not going to make any changes now, just collecting ideas.

Here’s another idea. I have a K-5 list; a 6-8 list; and a 9-12 list. I split mine from being one long list a year or so ago. They all really appreciate it. I also quit forwarding things from listservs and I urge my building coordinators to sign up for the listservs. Many of them haven’t yet, but we’re getting there.

Did you know that you can search programming by grade level at http://www.cilc.org?
And then you can email each results page/flyer to anyone?
Or that anyone can create a customized catalog by grade level, discipline, etc and either print it or save it and then you can share that link?

Although this is very easy, et me know if you need some guidance for the first time.
Your teachers can also do this for themselves!

Hope this will be a helpful tip.
