“Be Kind to Bridge Managers Week”
August 9, 2007
I just finished a demo of Monster Match with three other sites that I did not test with. (Everyone who runs a bridge knows where this conversation is going…) We have a direct connection to the bridge at the other site but I did not test sharing my desktop and the doc cam.
Anyway…long story short…be nice to whoever is running your bridge. Classes are about to start and the technical folks are going to be working overtime to ensure quality connections for our schools. If your school is taking classes, tell the tech people so that they can get them scheduled.
Remember test calls. When you connect to our office you will see The Bobble Heads, a small red stapler, and a DBADA 2.0 cup. Ask Shane what DBADA means.
If you were wondering if The Bobble Heads have any friends, yes they do!
Hmm….wonder where all these come from?
And finally, who has the skills to manage our videoconference network with charm and grace, be the lead singer in a band, sing to PreK and K students, AND work a crane machine like an expert?
Shane Howard…Video Network Engineer! (This is probably the last time we will see him smile until after all the classes are running and I have fully updated our calendars!)

Yeah for Shane!! Nice tribute Roxanne! And a great reminder that we need to appreciate these special people who keep us on track and connected!
Did you say test call? lol - I got an email from an Associate Superintendent at 6 PM today asking me to set up vc meetings with 18 different schools next Tues. Obviously I will spend the rest of week coordinating the test calls - I am happy he embraces vc technology only wish I had more time to coordinate and test!
