Bridging the Gap ~ Northwest ISD

Great presentation from the largest geographical district in Texas located near the Texas Motor Speedway. They have 15 campuses and placed video conference units at each campus last summer and shared how they have grown their program.

The main focus of their program is connecting to content providers which are paid for from the technology budget. They have a good website with links to all the main content provider databases. Tonya Hardin is the video conference main contact for the district and maintains on online survey that the teachers rate the connections.

Some uses of vc in their district include: staff development, view only cultural presentations, Camp Taji connections, and content provider connections. Tonya raved about the penguin program from Indianapolis Zoo and how easy Emily was to work with.
